About Us

The Community Marathon project is aimed at organizing series of marathon events within the hinterland of various Communities across different states of Nigeria.

It features both male and female athletes including elites in a 1oKM road race and half marathon.

The maiden edition of Community Marathon Series held in Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin on October 2nd, 2021.

The road race recorded over 400 participants from different states of Nigeria including elite runners.

The 2nd edition of the Community Marathon series is scheduled to hold in Lekki on the 29th of January 2022

As a symbol of unity and sportsmanship, a community marathon torch was presented to the chairman of Iru-Victoria Island LCDA, Chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government and Lekki Residence Association as the host community of the Lekki 10k road race. The torch was subsequently presented to the monarch of iru land, Oba Omogbolawan lawal, the Oniru of Iru land as a mark of respect and honor. The Oba endorsed the race and pledged his full support.

So far the organizers are set and have launched the registration portal for all prospective runners to register for the 2nd edition of community marathon series.

The race will feature 3 categories of runners;

1. COMMPETITIVE REGISTRATION – Participants who register under this category are eligible to win part of the price money. They are also entitled to special running bibs, race packs, refreshment, medals and certificate of participation.

2. NON COMPETITIVE REGISTRATION – This category is for participants who wants to run for fun. There are no cash prizes for non-competitive runners. Each runner will be issued a certificate of participation, medal and refreshment.

3. TEAM REGISTRATION – A group of runners or running clubs can register as a team in either competitive or non competitive race.
